X-ray examinations of stomach, intestine, or neck region    
      You need to make an appointment for the following examinations:


Stomach X-ray: A thick, liquid contrast medium (barium sulphate) mixed with a flavouring agent is administered orally.

Preparation: Fasting (no food or drink) for six hours prior to the examination

Duration of examination: about 10 minutes


Intestinal X-ray: An irrigoscopy is an examination of the large intestine for which a contrast medium enema is administered.

Preparation: A fasting period is required – no solid food for 20 hours prior to the examination. Please visit us in person to make an appointment for this examination – you will be given a laxative (free of charge) for self-administration. More detailed information about the preparation phase will also be provided when you come in to make the appointment.

Duration of examination: 10 - 15 minutes


X-ray of neck organs (oesophagus/gullet): Fasting (no food or drink) on the morning before the examination.

Duration of examination: about 5 minutes


      We need the following essential things from you    

Bath towel, long t-shirt or dress (without metal or rhinestones)
